Hi all, i picked up some stuff called hyseas bilge cleaner from my local marine shop, intending to clean up the bilge in my 17' marinex welded aluminum fishing boat before i put it away for the winter.. So im putting my boat away in storage today. removed the batteries and noticed some god awful nasty crud from water and dirt and whatever that was by the drain. does anybody pour stuff down the boats center drain hole to clean the bilge area? this is my first boat and first time for everything th.... I want to "paint" my bilge to give protection against standing water. i have the good stuff - ppg amercoat 235 multi-purpose epoxy coating but i need to prep the surface. an aircraft mechanic said they use zinc chromate whereas the amercoat 235 recommend two products to prep and clean the bare aluminum surface ..
