Floorboards Under Wall

I'm about to replace the solid wood floorboards in the bedroom, but it appears the existing floorboards run underneath the wall and continue in to the 2nd bedroom? wall appears to be made of a breeze block type material (1950's house)... The joist under this wall was right on the very edge. this meant that the floorboards had to be cut flush with the face of the wall and there was nothing to fix the ends of the new floorboards to. a 3 inch x 1 inch batten was treated and screwed to the side of the exposed joist giving some bearing to the end of the new boards. hearth. hearth. Upstairs wall built on floorboards. discussion in 'general chat' started by digital tench, mar 20, 2010. mar 20, 2010 at 5:08 pm. digital tench, mar 20 resting on some meaty floorboards that run under the wall...the floorboards are all in excellent condition and have never been lifted and hence fully support the wall and are connected.
